Kids ages 8-14... show off your grilling skills! A special competition just for you, the KIDS-Q will allow teams of three kids and one adult (18 or older) to vie for the top three awards in this category. Grill, charcoal, and 8 chicken thighs will be provided...your culinary skills are all that's necessary!
Everyone attending WhistleStop on Saturday between 1pm and 3pm will have a chance to "put your money where your mouth is!" Many of the backyard cooking teams competing in the Shadetree Competition will have boston butt samples available for you to taste!
Vote for your favorite by placing coins or cash in the jar provided at their cook-site. The team with the most money will be announced as the People's Choice Award winner during the Awards Presentations at 8:15pm on the main stage. Awards will be presented to First, Second, and Third Place. All proceeds will benefit educational programming at the EarlyWorks Museums.
Look for the Flag---participating teams will be flying a flag at their cook site.

The Alabama Corn Hole Championship returns in 2017! This year’s registration fees include admission to the Festival, but if you already have tickets just complete the application and enclose payment for the Walk-Up Fee.

On Friday you cook the chicken wings and the public will decide the winner! Turn in a minimum of 75 chicken wings prepared however you like at the Pig Whistle Pub by 5:45. Public judging will take place from 6-7:30pm, and prizes will be awarded for 1st -3rd Places.

WhistleStop Weekend 2017 will host the Alabama Chili Championship (CASI) and the Rocket City Chili Championship (Open). The Top 3 winning CASI cooks AUTO Qualify for 2017 Terlingua International Chili Championship (TICC) in November held in Terlingua, Texas.
